Healthier Honey Garlic Grilled Shrimp

Healthier Honey Garlic Grilled Shrimp

  • 1/2 cup Tualang Honey, Gelam Honey, or Kelulut Honey
  • 1/4 Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil, plus more for brushing grill
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced (1 1/2 Tablespoons)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes, (optional)
  • 36 Extra Large Shrimp (about 1 3/4 pounds thawed), peeled and deveined
  • Chopped Green Onions or Parsley, for garnish (optional)

  1. In a mixing bowl whisk together Tualang Honey, Gelam Honey, or Kelulut Honey*, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic cloves and red pepper flakes if using until well combined.
  2. Place shrimp in a gallon size resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour marinade over shrimp, seal bag while removing excess air. Rub marinade over shrimp and transfer to refrigerator and let marinate 30 - 60 minutes.
  3. Note if using wooden skewers soak in water at least 30 minutes so they don't burn up.
  4. Preheat a grill over medium-high heat to about 400 degrees.
  5. Thread shrimp onto skewers. Clean grill grates and brush with oil.
  6. Place shrimp on grill and cook through, about 2 minutes per side.
  7. Sprinkle with green onions or parsley if desired and serve.
